In North America, soybean is widely used as a source of carbohydrate supplement to the mushroom compost. However, it has some disadvantages such as heating up during spawn run, not easy to spread on the beds, etc. To solve the problem, NTS Research & Inc. has developed Gold Mushroom a supplement that has liquefied Soyazyme (soya+enzyme) with active minerals from soybean and various kinds of enzymes, which are essential for the growth of the mushrooms (EMP, HMP pathway, TCA cycle).

Soybean oil has a positive effect on controlling various kinds of mold. It enhances bacteria growth during the conditioning of Phase II, liberates ammonia quicker and adds food for the mushroom
